my second broody hatched what I presumed was overnight. Because of the predators here I moved mama and nest into a box like we did with the last one but I didn't know there were three eggs left!!!

Two have pipped (is that the right expression) so I put the two the right way round but I've no idea what to do about the third which is rocking.

Help!!!

The air bubble is trapped between the inner and outer membrane so unless they're shaken, it will be where it is.
When in doubt, think about nature and natural hatching. A hen sits on eggs when a clutch is collected. She sits for about 23 1/2 hours a day occasionally scratching the nest, thereby turning the eggs. They end up laying on their side with the large end slightly elevated.
Artificial incubation tries to emulate that by turning eggs several times a day.
The same goes for artificial brooding - try to emulate nature. Provide a hot spot and lots of cool space.

Well as I was reading this I heard cracking from an egg she was barely sitting on and we have a new hatchling! I've never seen them so... Fresh. It's very limp but I guess that's normal till they dry off..... Although he/she keeps trying to peel out and mum keeps pushing it back under.

Thank you for the reassurance and education!!!
