URGENT: Is it legal to have 3 runners in Smithtown?

Hello,
I live on Long Island,in the Smithtown area, and I am aware that we can keep chickens, but I was wondering if it is legal to keep our three runners. We love them so very much and would give them a safe, loving home.
Any answers would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to be so heartbroken if I have to give them away.

It is always easier to get forgiveness than permission. That said, if you are allowed to keep chickens, I cannot imagine why it would not be OK to keep runners. However, if it were me, I would just be sure the pens were always clean and not advertise the fact that I had them just on geneal principles.
