One or multiple of my newest chickens (about 3 months old) had bloody poop last night. I saw this (the picture I attached) today and I’m concerned. Could this be cocci? I was told they were vaccinated against cocci, so could it be something more serious? I’ve witnessed all birds eat, drink, and behave normally today. I tried looking at the poop chart to see if this could be stomach lining but I didn’t see any pictures where it is so dark red. Have you seen anything like this? Help!

What have they been eating? Could they have eaten berries or poke berries? Are more than one having these droppings? Corid is pretty safe treatment for coccidiosis, but it is my understanding that it negates the vaccine. Are the chickens all acting normal, and eating/drinking well?

I grow tomatoes, asparagus, lavender, and rosemary in my yard and they pick at my plants frequently. They haven’t been eating any berries that I know of unless maybe a crow dropped something, which happens pretty often. All my birds are acting normal and seem to be energetic. I did notice my rooster had a normal looking poop followed by another red one. That’s the only other abnormal dropping I’ve noticed today from anyone.

The last picture looks more like blood, so I would start some Corid in the water. Dosage is 2 tsp (10ml) of the liquid Corid, or 1.5 tsp of the powder per gallon of water for 5-7 days, only source of water and change daily.
