***URGENT*** Serama hen egg bound

I have a 2 year old Serama hen that always lays larger then usual eggs but this time she is having serious complications. She has had one about a year ago and passed it with a little help. I gave her an epsom salt soak for about ten mins and nothing. I also used the tip of my finger with olive oil and it's not working. Is it possible I can use a syringe with oil to lube it and see what happens or is there something else I can do. Please any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Have you given her any calcium? If you have liquid calcium that is absorbed faster, if not a ground up tums or other supplement will work. Give her that, put her in a dark room, and give her an hour. If you have KY jelly use that to lube her. The calcium will help with contractions. If none of that works you may have to try to manually remove the egg, last ditch option. I live in a very small town and in the country. I don't know where I could take her. I'm going to try and give her another salt bath and call my local feed store. I think they have someone that will come out. I haven't seen the egg, but I can see that it is just at her vent opening. If there is anything else you could suggest I would appreciate it. I know last time I got in touch with this travel vet he was backed up with horses. So, I'm hoping I can see if he will do an emergency.

She was more alert looking around and not panting like she was, but she is still trying to pass it. I need to do something now and she will not drink or eat the tums. I'm going to try that again. Waiting on the vet to call back.

OHHHH YES!!!! She did it!!! I'm so glad I didn't have to do anything that would harm her or kill her. She looks relieved and the egg came out intact. Is there anything else I need to do for her today.\? Should I keep her inside and keep an eye on her or give her any antibiotics? I always have doxy on hand for these reasons. Thank y'all for the help!!! I'm so proud of her!!

Yay!!! I'm glad the egg is out and your girl is feeling better. Do you give her high protein food or meal worms? I was looking up how many meal worms I can give my hens yesterday and figured out I'm giving them too many. The extra protein causes their eggs to be larger. I think she'll be fine now.
