I have a silkie that has just hatched 3 of her 6 eggs, not sure what happened to the other 3 eggs as when we looked inside they were fully grown but didn´t hatch.
The problem i have is i had two silkies broody at the same time in the same area. The next silkie to have hers is actually sitting on 5 duck eggs hence being a bit later. we have around another 5 days to wait. However 1st silkie has pushed her off the nest and is sitting in the 5 eggs with her babies.
Should i put more eggs under the one pushed off or should i just leave them.................. please help. i don´t want to find i lose the ducklings because of this.
Hope this makes sense.......................
Thanks

Can you separate them? If so, I would make the first hen stay with hers and let the other set on the duck eggs, if she still seems agreeable. If not, you may just have to let nature sort this one out. However, that is just my opinion and not based on first hand experience.

I´m going to go down now and move her as its dark and i think she will sit better. Should i put some more eggs under mum as well or is she just going to lose her broodines when she cannot see the eggs.??
