I tried posting in the geese forum, but got no responses. I have a broody LF cochin setting on eggs. There are 8 goslings due to arrive here Wednesday. Can I give them to the hen (and put the eggs in the bator)? She's a very big girl, and goslings don't need as much heat as chicks do. Anyone done this? Thanks!

I put ducklings and gosslings under my hens ofter. The only issue is that the poor hen just freaks out when the babies go into the water. The hens thinks they are chicks and will drownd>. Its funny to watch but the hens is going crazy.

Well- I'm going to try it. I guess I'll have a back-up brooder just in case she doesn't like them. I had tried to give her some chicks last week, but I think it was too soon. She's kicked out 3 eggs in the last 2 days, but is still vigilant about setting something.

I'm just worried that she'll hurt them- hopefully the night-time switcharoo will be less stressful.
