I just found a person renting out a plucker on craigslist (man, I LOVE craigslist!) and I need to process my turkeys this week. I'm just wondering if there are any particulars I need to know about throwing a bird in a mechanical plucker. I still scald, right? Do I need to pull off the wing and tail feathers first? Do I gut after the plucking? It has cost me a fortune to raise these fat things and I don't want to screw it up now, so any advice would be welcome!

Here is a video from you tube about using a featherman plucker.
You do all the same things as if you were going to hand pluck as far as killing, scalding. The plucker should be able to remove the tail and wing feathers.
