Using chicken door

Hello all,


I have 8 and a half week old chicks that have been outside in their " Big Girl " run for about 4 days. They have been great at getting in the coop, but they are using my door! Their door is 4 feet up, with a stepladder attached, but they wont use it!!! I leave to school every morning, and I have to leave my door open for them to get their food and water!!! Any ideas on how to " train" them to use their 8 paned glass door???

What do you mean by stepladder? Do you mean a ramp, or something with rungs? (Sorry, I'm just trying to imagine so that I can help).

If it is a ramp then you could set them on it. By doing that they will learn to start using it.

It is an old oarchard latter. I have seen a FEW use it, but not all.
