Using Runs for Pens?

I have an old barn, and I'm building runs. These runs, are different lengths, as to accomodate different bantam breeds.

All runs are 3' tall, and at least 3'wide x 5' long. I'm planning on incubating my eggs.

I don't have the money to build a fancy coop. But, I do have lots of space in this old barn for quite a few runner pens.

Is this acceptable? If not,

why? If so, why?

Certainly, a lot of people do it but just make sure that you make the barn predator proof. I would dig around the sides and inside where you are keeping them and put hardware cloth so coons or other critters don't get them.

heck yeah Id use it--Im using enything I can at this point! I have different ages going and will widdle them all down in a month or two once the sex is present and obvious to me-which means simply I will tak ephotos of all of them and post on here and let the more experienced awesome judges to the job for me!! LOL

All my runner pens are wired on the bottom as to keep anything from digging out or in. The wire used is a mix between 2"x4" dog pen wire, and 1/4" hardware mesh wire.

I also have 4 Rat Terriers, and a Red Nose Pit male in the yard. Plus I'm a light sleeper and a "dead shot"

Thanks for your response

I do have 3 coops with runs as well. I also have a double sided chicken house.

The runs are mostly for my pairs, trios, quads, and quints.
