One of my bantam hens died It was acting like it could not breath I took it out of the coop to my garage to have a look at it I sat it down it pooped out what looked like mucas it looked like a small brown worm was in it then she started flapping around and died. does this sound like gape worms? please can any one help?

If you suspect worms then take a couple (fresh) samples for a faecal (or if you have never wormed and are having a hard time locating a vet to do a faecal then you can choose to worm with ivomec Eprinex > it will treat nearly all of the most commonly occuring worms)
Gape worm is called so because the birds gape > they can sometimes be seen at the back of the throat ... I do not know offhand if they can sometimes be passed out through the faeces nor how common this is.

aw sorry about your hen.

Is the wormer okay to give when chickens are laying eggs?
