Our cute little Joey has started to crow so we need to find him a new, good home! He is really sweet. He's been handled daily since we got him as a day old chick. Please let me know if you are interested. He needs to go ASAP as we live in a rooster-free zone. Thanks for looking!

I see you need a home for your silkie rooster. I live in PG and have had chickens for years. Love my chickens! I raise them simply to love them and fresh eggs....I could never, ever eat one of my chickens. Guess I wouldn't make a good farmer. My chickens (five) have a henhouse that is heated in the winter and a very large run. Nothing fancy, and he will get dirty as my girls love to dust and play in the mud. They get a bowl of ramen noodles daily as a treat. When I don't have my garden in they get to free range. With that said, I don't have a rooster, but I could. I understand how you feel about your little guy and know it's often difficult to find a loving home for him. My girls are large birds (one of them is over ten years old....she's retired) and they have never been around a rooster. Let me know what you think. Where in SLC are you?
 
Hi, Your chicken home sounds wonderful. Like you, we could never eat on of our babies. We live in Riverton about 10 minutes off of I-15. You are more than welcome to come to our house, or I can also meet you someplace. Friday is crazy for us, but tonight or anytime Saturday is open. If you are interested just let me know. Thanks!
 
It amazes me how things work out. :O) I need to make an appointment to take my SUV into Riverton Chevy, so Saturday would prob work well. Can I let you know what time after I schedule this? I can just come by and pick him up when I go to take my car in....Let me know if that works. I am calling them to schedule today. Thank you!
 
Hello again! just trying to set my day up so getting Joey will be the last thing on my list of things to do. Too hot. I have a fairly big timeframe of when to go by Riverton Chevy for this estimate. Is between 5 and six ok?
