VA - Welsummer/Delaware crosses?- FREE eggs & shipping - PICK UP ONLY

Hi Crazy,

You've been so kind to help me with this research - I contacted the NPIP gal to see if she knows. I'll let you know when she responds. In the meantime if anyone else knows the answer, please, please chime in!

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure the law says that eggs & birds can't be shipped TO VA without first being NPIP approved. Is this where you got your info? http://www.vdacs.virginia.gov/animals/pdf/aiproclamation.pdf

It
may have changed, but this is what I was going by. I don't think it applies if we ship from VA.....just check the laws for whatever state you are shipping to.

Sending you a pm too.

This was the one I found for stuff coming into VA, but I've read a few posts on here that there are other rules for stuff coming into other states, and like VA, those states each have their own rules. I took TX as an example, and tried to find it but couldn't. I hope that's a good sign! I'll try to find a number for the state agricultural center and perhaps I can call. Maybe they would know?

I found it! I called the USDA and they referred me to APHIS. Here is the link for APHIS. If you go down about 1/2 on the page it will link to each state's regulations for importing. I took texas as an example, which states poultry must be from NPIP certified flocks. I couldn't find anything about shipping eggs, so I assume it includes eggs as well as live poultry.

Here are the states I've researched sofar. Each one needs an NPIP certified flock (of origin) or equivalent health certificate:

GA
ID
CA
TX

*sigh*....I can't wait for the NPIP guy to call me back!

I'm going to post this separately too, so everyone knows where to get the info :-)
