Vacation feeders/waterers/coop!?!?! (PVC feeder & waterer advice)

Natalie, for the auto feeder made out of the trash barrel, the part you want to put under it is called a "water heater emergency overflow pan".
That would work pretty well, and the barrel with a lid you can bungee or tie closed.

They should be fine, my chicks are probably "banty" sized right now. The youngest are 5 weeks and they've been using it since they were 2 weeks. They love it, this doesn't dispense huge drops of water like a rabbit waterer. It does dispense the water freely, am I making any sense? Let's just say they don't have to wear out their necks getting a drink, nor do they drown! Your banty's should be fine. Also, the really nice thing is, no wet bedding. The dates are wrong on the pics, I just took them about 3 weeks ago!
