Vaccinated chick might have Marek's - she can walk!!! update post #13

I would get new food- new brand, new bag- check temps ect. She may have had a vitamin deficiency, or the first in the group to show signs of rickets. 2 weeks is really to young for marek's- but PERFECT timing to show vitamin/mineral deficiency. They are using up the last of the vits from the yolk and are depending 100% on the food. I think you may have had a bad or old bag of food. Or she may have been injured, and time has healed her....

Fennel can walk! Still a bit unsteady but she is SOOO much better than even yesterday!!!!!!!!!!

I even let her back in with the other chicks for a short time (until they all started to pile on top of each other for sleepy time and I was afraid she'd get injured). I gave the chicks some hard-boiled egg, mashed into bits, to hopefully help correct any vitamin deficiencies they may have had . . . Mypicklebird, I did indeed completely change chick food last week after Fennel went "lame" . . . new bag, new kind of food. I agree it may have been a vitamin deficiency.

I know lots of people here use baby vitamins for chicks . . . but wouldn't egg yolk do the same thing? How much cooked egg would be okay for the chicks? I have 11 chicks all together.

Thanks again everyone for your advice and encouragement!!!
