Hiiii Everyone and THANK YOU in advance!!

I am raising organic/free range ducks. They are unvaccinated. I got them unsexed and ended up with 3 females and 10 males... long story short I have separated them and need more females!

I am not having any luck finding any locally and will have to order them :( I really didn't want to have to do that. BUT since it is coming to that I need to know how long vaccinations stay in the ducks systems...and will I have "truly" organic eggs if I buy ducklings that have been vaccinated? :(

Odd question I know... but I'm only finding places that have to vaccinate... my local places are "done" with duck orders...

Thank you for listening to my rambling ☺️❤️

Vaccinated against what?

I'm not sure when I call I just asked if they have to be vaccinated before shipped and they said yes Sorry I should get more info. I'm anxious to get my females and hopefully fully intrerate them into my flock by end of August

Metzers has started vaccinating against several salmonella strains at 4 weeks via the ducks' water source.

If you were to brood day olds they would not have been vaccinated yet.

Oh wonderful!!! That's where I was going to order from :) I hate the idea of shipping them to me but I've posted on so many local sites/FB Pages/rescues etc... no luck yet.

Also, just an FYI, might be useful to google organic farming. The vast majority of organic farms vaccinate. Just an example for you to check out:

Awesome!! Thank you so much!! I grew up on a conventional dairy and crop farm but no ducks, goats, etc...converting to organic is a Dream of mine for the whole farm..environmentally and health wise but of course I want to do it safely and responsibly too so I appreciate all the answers!
Sometimes when we do our own research we miss things as I've saved thousands of articles bought books etc but I've always felt talking on forums and hearing from current organic farmers has been most helpful ❤️ Thank you all again!
