Has anyone successfully vaccinated for MG? I have a vet coming to our hobby farm to confirm diagnosis. I have grow outs and week old chicks that have not had contact with the flock.
We raise chickens as pets, as well as for meat and eggs. We are also interested in breeding and selling chicks.
All of these things will be discussed with vet, but I’m looking for personal experience.

Your vet is going to send in samples to your state lab or vet correct?
Have you had testing performed by a lab?

My understanding is giving the vaccine for MG has to be approved through your State Veterinarian, likely for large commercial flocks but discuss it with your vet.

Research the vaccine, I don't believe it creates immunity. Birds still remain carriers, but the vaccine may reduce symptoms. I also think it has to be administered each season, but could be wrong about that.
Just going by memory of what I've read in the past. Look at poultry/avian studies and you'll likely find more info.
