Dear all,

We have had problems in the past (and still dealing with some chronic birds now) with what our veterinarian says is most likely Infections Bronchitis (we didn't do any swabs because they have to send them to the lab in the UK and by the time they would arrive, there is nothing to test anymore as it needs to be tested freshly taken apparently).

Our doctor recommended started vaccinating all the young chicks that hatch.

I can post the name of the vaccine (via water) that I bought but I wanted to just gather some data from those who have done it.

Mainly: is it safe to do, can there be any adverse reactions to the vaccination?

Do you only do it once or it has to be done as a booster every year or so? (our pharmacy told us once and then repeat after some weeks and that's it)

What do I do with birds that we bring in as adults (e.g. right now we are taking in two roosters from unknown circumstances, they are rescues but I don't want them to catch what we still may have)

If the bird has been already exposed to this disease but didn't catch it, would it affect them in any way?

Thank you in advance for all your experiences, I just don't want to harm anyone but at the same time really want to prevent this horrible thing.

Thanks a lot...
Irena

The name of the vaccine is IBA-VAC by Fatro (Italy).

If you have any experiences with this or other vaccines, e.g. side effects etc, would you please share?
