Valerian

Is anyone growing Valerian? I have a question. I deadheaded mine and see that the stems are hollow and now it's dying.
The leaves are yellow and the top of the stem is nasty and brown.
Am I going to lose it? What can I do for it?

Clip back the yellowing stem, the bottom leaves look really good. You're harvesting some of the roots this fall, right?

Ok. No, I wasn't planning on it. I wanted to wait since it's new in the ground and it was expensive. I'd like to give it another year. If it lives.
