I am so excited. A breeder was moving and could not take their birds so I picked up 3 pairs of Valleys today...An adult pair and two juvenile pairs. They were being housed in small breeder cages and I would like to house them in a larger pen.

I have 2 ideas: 1st idea- house single pairs in a 2 x 3 pen. 2nd ideal: house them all in a 6' x 12' aviary with the back 4' enclosed and on the 8' flight area to have metal up 2' with hardware cloth the rest of the way- the top would have 1" netting,

The 2nd housing idea is a small version of how I house my pheasants and seems suit those birds- just wonder how best to keep the valleys. Right now they are in a 2 x 4 pen but I would like to get them situated as soon as I can,

2 x 3 pen is a little too small, is not recommended, but could work for a pair. The 6' x 12' is better for a pair, but if you house multiples, there will be havoc come spring time.

Thanks- I am thinking larger is better- what would be the best hen to cockerel ratio with Valleys?
