So, after 2 chickens died succumbing to the same thing (infection), I thought I'd try the vaseline thing... the one chicken whose comb was going purple (this is how the other 2 went), after applying vaseline and after one day the chicken had a bright red comb from a purple one (I believe the immune system gets lowered and the chickens die from infection when the comb goes purple, vaseline just give them a chance to fight back)
I'd just like to thank you for the advise about the vaseline on the comb, otherwise another chicken would be gone, I'm also applying it to the other one if there's any signs of purple. This should at least give them a longer life.
