I found one of my 3 year old hens straining to push something out of her vent after a liquid egg came out of her vent (egg whites and yolk only, no shells or membrane).
She started walking around a bit and her vent was swollen and bulging and she was still straining so I gently put a finger in her vent to see if there was anything I could help take out, and next thing I know, this huge pink mass of her insides came out of her vent when she strained, then it went back inside her right after.
I'm not sure what that was or what I can do to help her. They are supposed to be sleeping because it's 11PM but I heard her straining in the nesting box so I went to check on her. What should I do?
