Very basic question on fertilized eggs--

On wednesday we got rid of one of our roos, would my hens still be laying eggs that might have been fertilized by him? I am wondering how long it takes for them to work it out of their system!

In with another roo, there won't be too many after a few days, but some may show up for 3-4 weeks of laying.

I've been told up to three weeks and know first hand 10 days for sure.

Yes, I've read three weeks several times here. Suppose the fertility will go down gradually.
