I feel like I've been hit in the stomach or in a bad dream for the last 3 weeks. 3 weeks ago we had to have our english setter of 15 years put to sleep due to old age as she was having trouble standing up and would fall when she did. Then my cat, Max developed crystal in his bladder and spent several days in the vet, And to top it off I had to have my 14 month old quarter horse filly put down due to her kidney problem. She was everything I had looked for, foundation bred, buckskin, great manners, calm, easy to handle, granddaughter of Hollywood Dun It. Bella was to be my next driving horse. The bad thing was that when she wasn't in pain she was like nothing was wrong. I felt really bad taking her down to be put down when she felt so good, I knew it wouldn't last. Her pain was happening more often and I couldn't stand watching her like that. That was a week ago and this is the first time I've been able talk about it and actually cry. I got her at 5 month old. Goodbye my sweet Bella. I really miss you!!!!! I know you are not hurting any more.

Ahh FF so sorry this has happened

So sorry (and I totally understand about not able to think of her without crying). Besides putting her down before she got worse, your memories of her will be when she's better than when she's worse or in more pain.

Hugs to you, it will get better.

Thanks so much!! To top it off we just moved to a new place and I may have to give up my chicken for a while as I have to rebuild everything. I took all my chickens to a friend who had a spare stall to put them in and yesterday Fruit loop, my 5 year old partiage silkie, got attack by the other chickens and I had to put her down. Will it ever end?
