Very new, still trying to figure out which chicken to buy... cold hardy, not broody, lots of large eggs, & friendly

Hello All, I'm still trying to figure out what breed of chicken to get. Cold hardy (Michigan) lots of larger eggs, not broody, friendly. Barred Rock? Red Commet?

Welcome to BYC. The options are endless. Brahmas are a good option. They are large and have small (pea) combs. Easter eggers are another pea comb breed that generally lay well. Good luck with your plans!

Hello and welcome to BYC! Glad you joined.
Lots of eggs usually equals short life. I'd shoot for average eggs. Go with breeds with tight combs vs large single.
