I had one duckling hatch out of a batch in a borrowed incubator. It's not working well, but that's not the issue. This ducky pipped at day 28. only very slight change by day 30, so I made the hole bigger. He was very weak so I finally rolled him out. There was no blood, so I figured he had absorbed everything and was full term. But TINY! And when he was out it looked like another yolk in the end of the egg. He was not attached to it at all, he had his own little blob of stuff attached. Is it actually possible this could have been a double yolk egg and only one was fertilised? Is that even possible? He was sorta slimy and I washed him as best I could. He seems to be ok, active. Not fluffing real well (a day later), but dry. I've been hatching ducks for a few years and never had one like this. I put him in a tub on a chick heat pad with a week old buddy. He looks even tinier next to the other one, but they seem to be snuggling. Any body ever have such a thing?
