Very sad day :'(

I don't know who here read my post about hoons running over my hen on purpose a few months ago.

Well, since I have lived here there has been a feral roo that lives in the orchard down the road. We see him every day and he is huge and stunning to look at.
He is regularly on the side of the road and all the locals in my quiet road know when they pull into the road he might be around. Plus he was very car savvy himself.

Today I pulled into my street and he was dead on the side of the road in the ditch :'(

His feathers were all over the road.
I actually felt so sad and I just have a gut feeling the same boys who got a kick out of swerving at my chicken and hitting her on my nature strip pulled into the ditch and got him too.

My neighbors told me that a week after they killed my hen, she was walking her little dog on lead with her toddler grandson and the same car swerved at her dog as they sped past her way over the speed limit. They scared her, Her dog and her grandson.

None of us have caught the number plate so far. We will be looking out in future though.

It should still be reported now that a human with a child was the target.
All incidences of car swerving to hit anything should be logged with cops.

I'm so sorry! Some people just amaze me with how they can just hurt innocent beings and not care! It absolutely appalls me. Could you post the link to the other post? I'd like to read it. Again, so so sorry!

I have been really lucky so far but I am sure someone will run over one of the guinea hens one of these days. They like to go to the neighbors house and eat the sunflower seeds she puts out for them, which means they cross the road - a lot. However, we are at the stop sign, so the vehicles are slowing down anyway. And the ditches are about 2' deep, steep sided, completely grown in with weeds and there is not road shoulder to speak of. So no-one would swerve into the ditch to hit anything, they would never get back out.
