I am very sad today. The State came and took Heidi, my RSL, away just a bit ago. They said that if I wanted to keep her for the next 30 days and re test they I would have to keep her away from all other chickens. That would be no life for her. So I am going to pay to have her tested for everything that they can so that she might be able to shed light on the others.

I have not heard from the cultures that were sent out last week. The lady said today and they do not have results from May yet!! I am so not good at waiting. This whole thing has just ruined my chicken having life.

Thanks for listening to my story. It just really sucks around here today.

what are they testing for? why did they take her (and just her)? Is/was she sick? Do they think she's bad or what, what's the scoop? I am so sorry.

Thank you.

The state came out last week and tested for pullorm. Heidi was the only one that tested positive. They took her for tissue samples and an exam of her. I am having cultures run for everything they can so her death can benifit the other hens. I was not easy to do but I did let her go.

Oh I am so sorry to hear about that, that is so sad and awful. I am so sorry. so do you get her back or are they gonna kill her? either way it's bad cuz I believe before you mentioned she would need to live alone if you were to keep her which is certaintly no life for a chicken. I am so sorry.
