My 4 month old Pekin female duck suddenly started acting sick a few days ago. Her symptoms started out with her staying in her house (not going out with the others), a swollen "foamy" eye, and she kept falling over.

We took her to the vet who prescribed a 4 day course of Baytril antibiotic and Neobacimyx Ophthalmic ointment for her eye.

We gave her the last course tonight and she's not much better. In fact, I noticed that there is what seems to be rot on the edge of her wings. I scrubbed it with Betadine and we've put the girl to bed. She is in quarantine and we're washing everything.

Our vet doesn't know what to do or what is causing her sickness.

Can anyone help? Thank you!

Baytril is usually a seven or ten day treatment....I'm not a Dr. but My Pekin was on Baytril for 10 days for Bumblefoot...It worked great and her bumblefoot is completely gone and she is Healthy again....?????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Sorry but Don't have a clue what could be wrong.

I'm no vet or dr. but thought I would give my opinion. Have you ever researched Diatomaceous earth? It's also called DE Earth. You can buy it, (the food grade) online or at your local feed store, if they carry it. Not only does it help with controlling the insect population, it can also be used to keep the health of your animals good. I give it to my ducks, I take, my aunt gives it to her dog, and I swear you can tell a difference. I can not stress enough though, you have to get the FOOD GRADE because the other grades can be harmful if digested. It won't hurt your duck if you do give it to her, so I would at least give it a try. Let us know how your duck is from time to time. Best wishes.

Thank you for your suggestions. I can ask the vet about extending the dosage and will look for the D Dirt.
