Hi one of my girls has layed a very small egg today, does this mean she is going broody ? I have 8 hens and 1 rooster and live in Spain with the weather sunny and in the mid to high 30's I'm giving them fresh lettuce every day and frozen watermelon to help keep them cool as well as their usual food. Any advise would be welcome.

A small egg does not mean broody.
A broody hen will sit in the nest and puff up when approached. Mine even growl!

If the egg is vary small from a bird that normally lays normal sized eggs it is likely a fairy egg.

Fairy eggs are an oops in the egg making. They usually have no yolk and limited whites.

Thanks for that hopefully she will be back to normal in a day or 2.
