Hello,

We have a jenny which is molting rather dramatically. She also is exceptionally thirsty right now. Usually she goes through a gallon of water every 4-5 days, but yesterday and today the container is empty twice a day!

Is it normal that molting turkeys are so thirsty?

I'm giving her extra vitamins and electrolytes in her water. She seems to be eating, though not surprisingly her poo has been much more liquid than usual. She doesn't seem to be sick, though maybe I'm wrong - her activity is at a normal level.

Thanks.

Well, I discovered that in fact there was a hole in her water container! Nevertheless, her poo has been more liquid than normal for the past few weeks. Kale and grass come out green, and grain comes out generally mustard brown and also soft and watery. But I've not seen anything I'd really consider "foamy," and she seems to be acting normally otherwise.

This morning I started her on DuraFend type C (fenbenoazole) to get rid of worms, just in case.

I was wondering if you had a leak. My turkeys poop is all over the place depending on what they are eating. I don't really concern myself with color or consistency. I look at the turkey and it's behavior to determine if there's anything wrong with it.
