Vi-Tal in the water??

I have been putting at 1/4 tsp in a gal of water for my 4 chickens since birth---they are now 15 weeks old. Do i still need to add that to the water?

It is a powder vitamin supplement that i read to put in there water----so i have been. It is good for all animals --I buy it at Fleet Farm (our local farm/house store)
