Its too early to tell for certain but i think the one you were holding will turn into a boy. You can tell by 4 weeks or so for certain because thats when the change really hits.

My 1st duckling I hatched never did anyhting when I picked him up and he still doesnt but hes 9 or 10 weeks old now and I know him and the other that hatched 5 days later are both boys. We call them the WHAT WHAT BOYS because thast what it sounds like they are saying.
 
I think they are both females.

Both sound pretty 'clear' in their peeps and the first one you were holding sounds a bit 'quacky' after you put it back in the box and pick up the other.
