Okay so one of chickens was going through a battle with fowlpox. This wasn't my first rodeo so we got her through. Her dried lesions fell off and she started getting active and eating a lot. A couple days later one side of her face started to swell. Right now I am giving her tylosin but im seeing very small unswelling. It's been 5 days and supposedly the swelling was supposed to go down after 48 hours. Anybody have suggestions?
Welcome To BYC
Do you have photos of your hen, her face and the inside of her beak?
Is there a bad odor about her face?
Your Title Says :: "Virus After Fowlpox"
Fowlpox is a virus, if it's dry form of Fowlpox, then generally the scabs or lesions will resolve on their own over the course of several weeks.
If the Fowlpox is Wet Form (Diphtheritic), then there's lesions inside the beak, the sinus, etc. and can cause complications that may seem like respiratory illness. Sometimes a secondary
bacterial infection can be seen with Wet Form, so an appropriate step to take may be a broad spectrum antibiotic.
Viruses do not respond to antibiotics, so if you are dealing with a Virus, Tylosin is not going to be of any help.
So, it would be good to see photos of your hen and hopefully we can help you determine what you may be dealing with.
