I read somewhere that vit D deficiency in red colored chickens can lead to black spots on the wing and tail feathers. I have one NHR who is kind of small, and is lethargic. I separated her from the flock, gave her water with corid to make sure it's not cocci (she's about 7 weeks old) and when I examined her I saw the black spots.

Did anyone see this in Red chicks? It would be great if there were some pictures I could look at to determine it. In any case I have put some childrens vit D drops in the water with the corid. I hope that this is ok.

My working theory right now is that she may not have cocci (poop today was a bit watery but no blood). Her crop feels empty. I have the feeling that since I hung the feeder a couple of days and they graduated from their chick feeder to the big hanging feeder, that's she's not been eating all that much. Maybe she didn't understand where the food went, although there are 6 other chicks in there with her that have been eating normally. She's markedly smaller than the others, and just stands in one place, sometimes with eyes closed. When I lift her up she's just bones, skin and feathers. Since I put her in isolation she's been eating quite a bit of the crumbles and drinking a fair amount of the water with corid.

I didn't hear any labored breathing, wheazing or any other respiratory symptoms.
