Vitamin Supplements ??

So I saw on here that some of you are adding vitamin Supplements to your water. I am just wondering why? And, we have an automatic watering system (PVC pipe with chicken nipples) so how do you measure how much supplement you add to it? Any & all info is greatly appreciated ... Thanks

Oops ... forgot to put in the first post ... what kind of vitamin supplements are you using & where do you buy them?

I use a vitamin and electrolyte supplement in my chicken's water made by rooster booster. I also use organic apple cider vinegar but I want to know when and how often I should use each? Can they be added to the water at the same time?
