This beautiful estate quilt top is comprised of 90 6-1/2 inch blocks arranged in 10 rows of 9 blocks each.
There are tulips, hearts, pinwheels, baskets, maple leaves, bow-ties and more. Just gorgeous!
Each row is separated by a strip of coordinating fabric and is bordered is a pretty fresh purple floral.
I finished this with outline and "stitch in the ditch" quilting. The corners are rounded. I used a pastel rainbow thread which shows up on the back of the quilt.
I used a light mountain Mist batting and in keeping with the depression era theme used in the blocks, backed it with pre-washed muslin.
This quilt is light enough for an over sized lap.The size at approx 64 x 80 is in between a twin and a double bed size.
Note-This quilt top is not an antique. The flash on the camera brightened the blocks. The white muslin used in the block is not bright white, but more of a cream.
