I got a new mixed flock last fall, 2 EEs a bantam black orpington and a svart hona. They were all at least 6 months old last fall and finally I have been getting some eggs (finally!) Usually I can tell who is ready to lay because of the bright red combs. I am getting green from my easter Eggers and my mystery light pink egg I think is from the bantam orpington because her comb is bright red. Of course with the svart hona her comb is black..is there any way to tell with them if they are ready to lay? Wondering at this point if I am ever going to get an egg out of her! Here's a picture of her

Svart honas have a light cream-colored egg, I think, like ayam cemanis. Your pink egg is probably from your bantam.

What are you feeding?

She might not quite be ready to lay yet, but I wouldn't give up on her laying. Definitely not yet.

They have layer pellets available all the time, I throw a handful of scratch out now and then and they get some whole grain bread heels occasionally. They are out in the backyard eating bugs and rolling in the dirt at the moment haha. Hopefully I get an egg soon. Is it possible to get a hen that doesnt lay eggs?
