Walnut comb??????

None of my chickens ever had a walnut comb, why now? About 5 years ago one of my chickens hatched 7 eggs , one of these new chickens had a walnut comb for some reason. A few years later she hatched 5 eggs. 2 of these had a walnut comb. Last year she hatched another 6 eggs and 4 of these had a walnut. Why have my hens started getting walnuts? Sorry but I don't know the breed

Very evidently this hen carries the genes for a walnut comb, and they are showing up in some of her chicks.

Why does she have the gene for a walnut comb if none of her siblings mum or dad never had a walnut???
