Wandering Chicken

We only have 2 chickens one is younger and the other older and laying. Our older chicken likes to go next door and visit the neighbors flock. This was never an issue until she went into their coop and spent the night. Now she wants to go over there all the time. I have her penned up but am worried I will no longer be able to let her out. Not letting her out breaks my heart. When we do let her out she runs right back over to the neighbors. Have I lost our chicken to the neighbors? Our neighbors have been good and say they don't mind her being over there.

You need more chooks - they are naturally group animals and why she wants to be over there.

That is what I was thinking too but worry that then they will all go over there.

Once you have 4-5 lock them in your coop together fo 2-3 days then they should stay together in you yard. If they have a rooster and you don't you will also need one or he will keep trying to put your hens into his flock.
