Does anyone know where to get black leghorns for this spring? I would buy either hatching eggs or female day-old chicks? Please help, I can't find any anywhere. Also, is there a breeders association or club in the US? Thanks for any help or suggestions!

I never heard of black leghorns, I have white leghorns and I know there are brown leghorns.

Have you had any responses?

Thanks and have a blessed day.

Sandhill hatchery has them, they say solid black with excellent egg laying ability . they are 3 dollars each. also they have exchequer, millefleur and red leghorns.

I know that a user on here has been breeding Black Leghorns, but I do not know if he sells them sexed(pullets, cockerals, or st. run) I have heard his stock is getting better by the generation. His username on here is "Tony".

I was PM'd and told that Sandhills Preservation Center sells the black leghorns - the catch is that they have a minimum order number of 25 for black leghorns and 15 minimum for red leghorns! I don't need 40 chicks! I found one co-worker that will take (and pay for) 4 of the black and 4 of the red so far. Does anyone else want to go in on this order with me? Help!!
