Ok...so i've always loved and been fascinated by peafowl. I don't care about breeding or very special colors. I just want the pleasure of hanging with the most beautiful bird alive. I have an acre of property and only 1/2 is fenced in. Is it worth researching/getting a peafowl or two for my backyard? I mean, is that big enough for them to free range? If they do free-range, do they have to be cooped at night? Is CT too cold? Are hatching/raising much harder than chickens? Are they pretty friendly like chickens if raised from young? Thanks everyone.

we live in ct as well they are harder to raise then chickens they need to be on wire for the first 3 months an should have a coop with a big run after a year you can try to free range but if you just let them go they may just fly off. my daughter debbie is in love with peafowl an they are so fun to own an watch.we live in storrs if you want to come see her birds she has just 4 for now she has ib sp an white.yoda on here is also from ct he is on the west side an has some awsome colors to look at 2.
