Hi everyone! Happy spring (🤞🏻)

I have 2 rubber ducks laying on quite a few eggs. They just started hatching and so far we’ve had 3. Everything I’ve read so far is saying to leave them with the mama’s.
Well, now we have 1. I came home yesterday to one no longer alive and one is just missing.
I want to take them and put them in the brooder so badly so they live! However, I feel bad taking them from the moms.
Also, will they just stop laying if the rest of the eggs don’t hatch? The first one hatched almost a week ago and 2 since then and nothing. Never had a chicken or duck lay and hatch before! Pretty cool, if they would only stick around and survive.
Thoughts and advice would great!
Please and thank you

Awe, poor ducklings. Good to know! I want to pick up and leave work to save the little guy. Hoping I’ll go home to my 1 left 🤞🏻

But keeping 1 duckling alone in the brooder is very bad for the duckling. Can you candle the other eggs and see if any are viable? If not, might you get a couple of ducklings from your feed store to keep your little one from pining and dying?

It’s now with 10 chicks that hatched around the same time. I see another baby duck hatched this evening so I’ll grab it in the morning :)
Also good info! Thank you for sharing, another thing I was not aware of!
