You can go to your local pet store, they usually carry Hydrometers in the reptile department. A descent analog one will run you about $5-6

Wal-mart has Springfields for 7 or less

As Tuffoldhen said WalMart has Springfields - you can get them at Home Depot too. They are inexpensive and very accurate. Better than the pet store ones and cheaper too.
