Wanting to get white

If I am crossing a barred and a white, and wanting to get white, do I use a white roo and a barred hen or a barred roo and a white hen???

I believe it depends on which white you're using and what they're hiding.

If you put dominant white roo on barred hen you will get white offspring.
If you put recessive white roo on barred hen you will get black and barred offspring likely. The roos should be barred and the pullets black. Take those black pullets back to your rec white roo and you should get 50/50 black and white.

A barred roo over dom white hens would result in white offspring.
A barred roo over recessive white hens would result in all barred offspring.

It could be advantageous to do both matings i.e white to barred & barred to white. Then breed the offspring of one group with the offspring of the other. There are some sex linked genes which involved which it could be to your advantage to keep.
