Yup, can't shoot with anything other than a pellet gun here in southern NY. My DH has the pellet gun sighted in and is ready for them this weekend.

I miss my big ole dog and have considered a new one, though it's hard to know if they'll chase squirrels. Guess you can get a certain breed that'll kinda guarantee.
