Warchickenmama here and I am sure glad I found you guys!! I am new to the whole byc thing, but love it already! I am proud mama to a small flock of 6 1/2 hens of various breeds. But my love is for the so called half chicken, she is a little bantam silkie named Clover, she is the absolute sweetest little thing. All my others are standard size and they all live outside in their coop, but Clover is our so called house chicken. She has her box in the house where she roosts and lays her eggs. She utilizes the doggy door in back door and comes and goes as she wants. Rarely has accidents inside, and if for whatever reason we are late to get out the bed, she is right there to wake us up. She just jumps up and makes her little trilling sound until we get up. Doesn't take us long either as she is not the soft spoken kind. All of the flock are pretty great, and other than a few bullying instances, we haven't had any major trouble, thank GOD!! BTW the name I use is based on the little bantam and her warchicken charge when someone does her wrong!! She is so freaking cute wings up head down and the growling oh boy she means business!!!
