I just got done with a hatch of 8 call ducks shipped from Ohio that got lost in the mail for fifteen days. Only one hatched and that was with assistance. A couple days ago I candled my call ducks that shipped from northern Iowa (in 1 day) and they were all alive. Lockdown is tomorrow morning so I thought I'd take a quick peek. I have 6 Peahen eggs that all look good from what I can tell, but now over half of my call ducks are dead in the egg! What in the world! I'm really sad. One of my Buff Orpingtons died today and I've lost 4 trees! My son's cow calved and her and the calf died. Joys of living on the farm, so much death..
