Was my chick born alright??

Hi, I've been trying to hatch some new chicken here recently. One chick that hatched seemed fine, was making noise that drawed my attention to it. When I looked into the box and picked up my new chick, it had a small red mass connected to its behind? Is it part of the cord or is it not normal for the chick to be like this??

Do you have a photo of it? Is it a large mass or just a tiny bit? Chicks have an umbilical cord that quickly dries up. I would keep an eye on it just to make sure (without pics I am only guessing sorry)

Actually I believe you were right.. I guess it must of been a big umbilical cord or something because the chick seems happy and healthy like the others! It looks like the red stuff connected to the chick is dried up... so it must of been a false alarm. Thanks for your help Schultz!

... wow I don't know why I put born instead of hatched... I was just too worried to think straight when I typed it all up!
I got so worried especially since the others didn't have an umbilical cord like that chick did. I guess now I know it can look like anything lol!
