Was told this was an Orpington cross? Any ideas

Just picked up this young bird who is very large and has huge thick legs. Was told it was an Orpington cross. Feathers are very fluffy and soft. Tips of tail feathers are black as well as some wing weathers and a few neck feathers. Any ideas? She is so friendly and nice!!!

The black on the neck means she could be part brahma or Sussex, which would explain her size... she does look like a black tail, but idk how big those crosses are... (black tails are light Sussex and Rhode Island Red crosses)

She looks like a buff Orpington crossed with some red breed-- Rhode Island Red, production red, or New Hampshire.

looks like a rhode island red, star, or golden commet. does not look like a orpington to me. mabey with a little bit of Sussex. but you really cant be sure.

Could be, to be honest with crosses you never really know, which is why I love them, my friend has a silkie cross, that’s is black with white spots and lays BLUE eggs

The light legs look Orpington, but color look like maybe mixed with RIR or RSL like Isa Brown, Red Star etc...With black in tail n neck I would lean towards the RIR, but like everyone already said it's hard to say with crosses. Any of those should lay very well for you, tho.

She really does look like a black tail when I look at pictures.

I would guess Buff/New Hampshire. New Hampshire hens have black lacing in their hackles and black tails, She looks like what you would get if you crossed a buff orp with a NH.

With her size and light legs its a good chance she is Orpington or Sussex cross.
