Washed Plaster Sand for Chicken Run

Hi All!!! I've gotten sand from our local nursery a few months ago for our chicken run and so far so good. I had recently built an addition so ordered more sand. This time though, it seems different. They said it was washed plaster sand. It's already bought and delivered... Is this sand okay? Anyone have expierence using it for their chickens?? It's very orange and feels more sense than our previous sand.

With chickens, coarser sand is better. If the sand is too dusty, it can get into their lungs and cause respiratory issues.

Yes this sand doesn't seem dusty at all. It's dense . I just worry about their feet or if they are chemicals added or something. And the folks at the nursery of course think I'm crazy!! Haha
